From Vet Assistant to Veterinarian

Vet Med Life

So, my first semester of second year @ vet school is done! I must say this has been my favorite semester so far because it was more clinically relevant. This semester has also made me feel like I really did learn a lot first year, despite what some of my test scores said. The most fun of the semester was when we were put in groups to do a parasitology project. I'm going to try to upload it onto here but I cannot guarantee it will work. My best grades this semester were in Parasitology & Epidemiology; I just wish Epidemiology was worth more than 2 credit hours. I would have to say my favorite class was Pathology because it was the one I learned the most in and it integrated almost every subject I've had so far in vet school. I hope Special Pathology & Clinical Pathology next semester will be similar.

GO ILLINI!!!!
The Men's Illini Basketball team (#5) beat Wake Forest, the #1 seated team, last night! Not by 5 points, or 10 points, but 20 points! That's what happens when teams have great teamwork and....it doesn't hurt to have all of Assembly Hall "painted orange."

Wow, I cannot believe its December and the semester is almost over! So far this semester has felt like the quickest semester. I'm not sure if it because this year's classes are a little more relevant clinically or what.
So, I had a Path exam the other day and I was on my way out the door to this 8am exam and I put my car key into my trunk & the trunk was frozen shut. I started pulling up on the trunk to open it and finally it did. Then I went to put the key into my car door and it wouldn't fit! I looked at the key and somehow it got bent to the side. I had to try and bend it back slightly to get it to go in the lock; I got it in and unlocked the door but guess what....The door was frozen shut! I was so frustrated. I had to pull on the door hard to get it to open and was I was in the car and went to stick the key in the ignition...The key didn't want to go in! I was sooooo upset; of course the one day this would happen to me would be on the morning of an exam. Finally, I got the key in and started the car. Fortunately, when I got into class to take the exam (5 minutes late) it had not started yet. I sat right down, took off my coat, and they handed me my exam. I was so frazzled; I was trying to calm down after the car incident but I didn't really have enough time to do that. Let's just hope my exam grade turns out okay.
