So, I haven't posted anything since I left school...that doesn't mean I've not had anything to blog about but its hard to blog @ home b/c I use dial-up, thereby clogging the telephone. I'm going to break things down into categories...here we go!

  • Animals: Every 3 weeks since right before I left for home I have been traveling back down to school for Rusty to have chemo therapy. His last dose was a week ago today; he had a total of 5 doses. Now we are just making sure he is happy, content, & pain-free...we were given 3-6 months with him in April so every moment he is here with us we are grateful. One of my other cats just had a dental cleaning a little while ago which made me realize 5 of my 6 cats are geriatric & 2 of my 3 dogs are as well...oh the bills to come!!!!!
  • Friends: I have made some pretty amazing friends while in vet school. I keep in contact with most of them over the summer but we don't talk everyday like we did in school which is okay b/c distance makes the heart grow fonder, right? In terms of friends back home I haven't really seen them this summer. One of them I have & we're even going to see the cubbies next month. I think the other friends schedules & mine just don't click or maybe they just don't like me anymore. The friends I've been around the most are the one's I've met @ work. Just like @ my previous job I found friends I enjoy being around both @ work & outside of work, except I think these friends will keep in contact whether via e-mail or IM. As most people I meet know I have trust issues b/c I've been scorned way too many times (for someone my age) by people I thought I could trust, thus making me have my guard up @ all times.
  • Job: Again, this summer I'm working @ Banfield, The Pet Hospital of Downers Grove. The pay is A LOT better than my previous other vet tech job & vets students get a cool bonus @ the end of their summer. I've learned some new things while there this summer but it is basically me putting to use what I've learned thus far @ school & previous work experience. It might seem like its not all that beneficial but it is considering I will have no general practice experience thru vet school my fourth year.
  • Family: It always been my ma & me, so nothing has changed there. Love ya mom! Then there is BlackJack, Buster, Dipstick, Frisko, Mitzy, P.J., Rusty, Stormy, & Tabatha...all of which are doing great!
  • School: Don't have much to say except I'm in my third year @ UIUC's College of Vet Med. I'm gonna start learning surgery (Sx) this semester & I officially leave the Basic Science Building to "live" in LAC (Large Animal Clinic) 100 & Junior Sx.
  • Money: WHAT MONEY??? Yes, I have some from my job but its being used to buy food & pay off bills. Again, WHAT MONEY?? I guess I'm being prepared for living like a vet, eh?
  • Love: Uh, let's not go there! There isn't enough time in the day for this one!
  • Lust: Uh...see above!!!

I think that keeps everyone up to speed on me. What about you? TTFN!
