So if you're wondering why I haven't blogged lately its because almost everything in my life has been complete chaos. 2 of my cats got very sick the week of March 21, Rusty first then Pepper. Rusty has since been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a mast cell tumor on his right eyelid, a basal cell tumor on his right side of his chest, hemangiosarcoma, & biliary cysts after an exploratory surgery. Pepper was diagnosed with a chylothorax, possibly FIP, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and today acute renal failure from his heart not functioning properly. This was the first pet of mine that I had made the decision to euthanize. He was not doing well @ all & I wanted my mom to get the chance to say her goodbye's before I did it. They had already put a catheter in him so they just flushed it & then I held him close as they gave him the solution. He laid his head on my shoulder & gave one last breath, then went limp. I was surprising calm for most of it; I think it is because I had been preparing to do it for one of my relatively soon. Rusty is expected to be around for another 3-6 months. Oh yeah, I had several exams & quizzes to pass too!
